1960s Gold Tone Locket Necklace Mode Art Arthur Pepper
This beautiful costume jewelry piece is a long, double strand locket necklace, featuring a peacock design. Exactly what you would see a lady wearing at a fab 60's cocktail party! It is stamped "Art" which is the Mode Art company, by Arthur Pepper. Note: in the photo with the "ART" stamp, the locket appears silver. I had to adjust the photo to show the stamp clearly.
The locket is in great condition, the hinge and clasp work very well. There is some slight wear of the gold color at the body of the peacock, and some slight discoloration on a part of the chain, please see photos. Some nominal wear is to be expected with a piece of this age, however.
The chain is a double strand, connected by a link in the back (see photo). You could remove one of the chains if you prefer to wear it as a single strand, as well.
I got this gorgeous necklace from an estate of a lady who was a Rockette in the 40's/50's. She had some great pieces!!! Keep an eye on our shop to see more, which will be listed soon.
Length of pendant chain: 24"
Length of thicker chain: 32"
Locket is 1.5" in diameter, and about 0.5" thick.
